Re: Singapore
I understand quite a few live on the Malaysian mainland and commute in.

There was talk of extending the metro over the Strait last time I looked, but that was a fair while ago. I guess it depends if you or your company are paying for the accommodation/commute.

It is very clean. Someone at your company will check every morning for dirt under your fingernails and that you have washed behind your ears.

Re: Singapore
Sentosa/ Universal Studios and the Zoo/ Night Safari are OK but mainly for kids. Other than that there is shopping and expensive bars and restaurants.

No, after all that (and I really wanted to go) the missus just waltzes in and declares we're going to Singapore for three days and then Penang.

I deferred as she's pretty fucking scary at the moment. Plus, if it's shit, she can't blame me.

Chinatown is better - if only for the crab. And fraser is right the hawker halls are worth a try.

67 i have only been there twice for a couple of days each time.

went out to a lively area by a shopping centre on the river one night which was a good night but have no idea where to live.

just make sure you have a box of monkey nuts in the long bar and a beer in the long glasses and stand.

Re: Singapore
hahahaha, i have never been to malaysia, but have you thought of also looking there and commuting up? singapore is very clinical i found, like a grown up dubai but almost like its past its sell by date in places.

i am not trying to put you off as i literally went there for an odd couple of days so am really no expert, just saying look at all options...
